Louis Yansen

Louis Yansen directed and wrote the feature film MISPLACED, starring Viveca Lindfors, distributed theatrically and televised on American Playhouse/PBS TV. It was shown at London Film Festival, Toronto, Hong Kong, Bergamo, Seattle, Deauville, among other film festivals.

Mr. Yansen was born in Poland and graduated from University of Virginia. He attended the New York University Graduate Institute of Film & TV, and was awarded the American Film Institute's Independent Filmmaking Grant award. He studied acting at the Circle in the Square Theater on Broadway and at the Actors Studio in New York. He worked on documentaries such as SKY DISK, for PBS-TV in 1985, and he won the CABLE ACE AWARD for producing "LA Fire!" for Los Angeles Ch. 35-TV in 1997. He worked on music videos for Duran Duran, Yello, Grace Jones, etc. and has written several feature film scripts. His short dramatic film AUDITION won the CINE Golden Eagle and screened at numerous film festivals.

He is the founder of Citrus Sceneworks Acting/Directing workshop at Los Angeles Theater Complex and recently directed a play at USC University in Los Angeles. He has taught film at New York University in New York City, and Loyola Marymount in Los Angeles, Cal State Northridge, and Chapman University, and currently works as an independent in the film industry.
